Mr. Ujjwal Kumar Baruah is an Outstanding Scientist with significant contribution in Fusion Energy Research.  His contributions include the Neutral Beam Injection system for SST1, and Power Electronic Converter systems for various experimental plasma systems. He is a Masters in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras.

He is the Group Head in charge of Positive Neutral Beam Systems in the Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar. He has been Project Director of ITER-India since 2019 leading the Indian contributions to the ITER project.
